NEW ORLEANS — As the Saints prepare for their final game of the season against the Titans, we wanted to share some information about who we may not see in this game. We didn't expect any of the starters to play, but based on pregame warmups, here's who is likely not playing and why.
These are the players who completed a pregame warmup similar to what they did on game day from the inactive pool: Cesar Ruiz, Carl Granderson, Erik McCoy, Demario Davis, Derek Carr, Alontae Taylor, Tyrann Mathieu, Pete Werner, Foster Moreau, Taysom Hill, Paulson Adebo Jr., Willie Gay Jr., Alvin Kamara, Chase Young, Nathan Shepherd, Cedrick Wilson Jr. and Lucas Patrick.
Having Patrick in the fold could mean he's locked in the starting spot at left guard. Of course, we'll see if anything changes when the Saints kick off at 1 p.m. CT, but that's the typical vibe we're getting. This list doesn't include players like Chris Olave or Cam Jordan, but we don't expect them to play. Trevor Penning did warmups, as did Taliese Fuaga, suggesting they should both play.
Other pregame notes: Kool-Aid McKinstry (knee) and Nick Saldiveri (calf) were there. That's encouraging for McKinstry in particular. Mason Tipton (hamstring) is on the field warming up. We'll see if he comes in.
