If you want to enjoy the summer weather on Sunday (September 1st), you can go shopping in one of 28 cities in North Rhine-Westphalia. Numerous shops and stores invite you to browse and stroll. Find out here which places in NRW have Sunday shopping.

Sunday shopping in NRW: Where you can shop on September 1st

This weekend, the selection is more than twice as large as last week (25 August), when 12 cities had Sunday shopping. On 1 September, shops in 28 cities in NRW will be opening for Sunday shopping. You can find out which ones they are here (in alphabetical order)*:

Sunday shopping in Dorsten on 1 September

On 1 September, there will be a Sunday shopping event in Dorsten. The occasion is the “Kiek Rin Day” in the district Dorsten-LembeckVarious companies from Lembeck will be presenting themselves there and providing plenty of entertainment. There will also be a wide range of food and drink options as well as entertainment for younger visitors.

Sunday shopping in Dortmund on 1 September

This Sunday, shops will open in three districts of Dortmund: Aplerbeck, Hombruch and Mengede. The shops will be open everywhere between 1 p.m. and 6 p.m.

  • In Aplerbeck The Apple Festival takes place on the weekend – visitors can look forward to many stands and a varied program.
  • Another Sunday shopping event in Dortmund takes place Hombruch Here the shops open their doors as part of the Hombruch street festival under the motto “Edizione Italia – Fiesta de la Dolce Vita”.
  • Also in Mengede You can shop on September 1st. The Michaelmas Festival attracts visitors with rides, music and children's games.

Sunday shopping in Düsseldorf on 1 September

The “Caravan Salon” will take place on the occasion of the trade fair Dusseldorf There will be a Sunday shopping event. Numerous mobile homes and caravans will be presented at the fair. Visitors can also browse through various accessories and outdoor equipment. Visitors to the fair can get extensive advice from the exhibitors on site. The shops in the city center, old town and Carlstadt districts will be open from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Sunday shopping in Haltern on 1 September

Also in Holders Open the shops on September 1st. The occasion is the local festival, which has been held in the Seestadt for 40 years. Visitors can look forward to rides, food stalls and a stage program. The shops are open between 1 p.m. and 6 p.m.

Sunday shopping in Cologne on 1 September

As in Dortmund, there will also be Sunday shopping in three districts of Cologne on 1 September:

  • On the occasion of the Carrée Festival in the districts Sulz and Klettenberg In Cologne Open the shops for Sunday shopping. Numerous stalls invite visitors to browse.
