“I'm pretty confident. I just need to push the limit a little bit more. Sometimes I give it a little bit of gas, sometimes I don't have enough speed or I don't brake enough. So it's about pushing the limit a little bit more at high speed,” he continued.
“I think the tire has a sweet spot that's very difficult to understand. If you're above or below it, it's a very narrow window.”

The Argentinian didn't seem to mind too much about the heat in the cockpit and the physical strain that comes with driving an F1 car on this track, although he admitted that Monza is a good place to start in this respect as there are no corners on this famous track. And he also confessed that he doesn't quite know how to drink from the cockpit – one of the many little details he will have to sort out over the course of the weekend.
The real test will come tomorrow, when he will have to push himself to the limit in qualifying, despite the car being so light all weekend. But for now, Colapinto remains “very proud and extremely happy” with how his first Friday as an F1 driver went.
