WWE's next premium live event is just around the corner, as fans in Germany will witness the Bash in Berlin on August 31st, which is expected to be headlined by GUNTHER defending his WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Randy Orton. The Ring General originally earned his shot at the title by defeating Orton in the King of the Ring finals in May, something “The Viper” did not forget when he announced himself as GUNTHER's first challenger.

Although GUNTHER is from Austria, he will likely have the home court advantage as he spent most of his career in Germany before signing with WWE. However, Orton hatched a plan to win over the German crowd at the Bash in Berlin kickoff event by revealing that he is more German than GUNTHER will ever be.
“Before I started this journey, I went to a website called Ancestory.com and took a genetic test. It turns out I'm almost 70% German,” Orton said. “That makes sense because my whole life I've enjoyed a nice cold Heineken, I love sauerkraut on my bratwurst and I feel at home with my people. Tomorrow night I'll leave this arena as a 15-time heavyweight champion of the world.”

It's worth noting that the Berlin supporters briefly booed Orton during his speech when he mentioned Heineken beer, mainly because Heineken actually comes from the Netherlands and not Germany. Despite this, he felt like he was surrounded by his own people and is fully confident that he can end GUNTHER's reign before it really starts.
