** Drew McIntyre stars alongside Dave Bautista in The Killer's Game. Both are doing media outings to promote the film, and McIntyre chatted with Nerd Reactor. He talked about Bautista being his mentor on set and when McIntyre first joined the WWE.

Oh, it's so much fun (being part of The Killer's Game with Dave Bautista). That's my first movie that I've been in. The character that Dave introduced to me was so exciting and fascinating to me and people kept asking me, “Are you going to get involved in that world at some point?” And I said, “We'll see what happens.” I'm a wrestler. That's the most important and most important thing in my life. But being there, being with Dave, who I grew up with in the WWE. He was already an established star, main eventer, when I arrived in 2007, and I was a kid who knew nothing, and he helped me find my way when I arrived. Not just finding my way in the WWE, but finding my way in life, because I just had absolutely no clue. I just got picked up and dropped off from my college in Scotland and he was there, you know, as a friend and mentor, and it's interesting to fast forward so many years. The success he had in the entertainment world in Hollywood and now he's doing the exact same thing. He helps me grow. He was my mentor again and the experience on film was just, yeah, unreal. It's crazy what the WWE prepares you for. It really prepares you for everything in life. But specifically this world, I was so nervous. Dave calmed my nerves and the red light went on. I just relaxed again.

** The Great North Wrestling Podcast welcomed Johnny Swinger to the platform. Swinger shared that he will be involved with Scott D'Amore's Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling promotion.

Yeah, he (Scott D'Amore) asked me if I wanted to be in (Maple Leaf Pro) and I just said sure, you know what I mean? And like I said, he put me in the race. He's probably going to beat me up too. We always end up together because it works. He told me many years ago, “Swinger, you were born to be a wrestler.” Scott was born to be a television producer. He was producing TV shows at 19 and it's not just that – everyone has wrestling ideas. This guy formatted things and could organize everything and he has 100 people – that's a special kind of talent… I don't know much about Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling. All I know is that he asked me if I wanted to be in and I said “100 percent,” so I can't wait to see where this goes. I have high hopes of getting more TV exposure in the future. I've been independent all these years. I'm at independent shows every weekend, so I always have that, but it's exciting when something new comes along and I get a chance to be involved. I look forward to it.

** During the 5/31/24 episode of Friday Night SmackDown, former WWE backstage interviewer Kayla Becker (Kayla Braxton) encountered LA Knight. He insulted her and then tried to get her to say “yes.” Becker didn't play along. She recounted that moment when she was talking to Chris Van Vliet and recalled that people on social media noticed that she ruined the moment.

Yes, that's true (interviewing is a skill that doesn't get talked about enough). Everyone knows it got pretty hyped up online about me and LA Knight. We had an interview towards the end of my days there and I don't know what was going on. I think I was just really tired and he and I were going back and forth backstage and he was trying to get me to say yes but he also just insulted me on TV so I felt like my character wouldn't have said yes. But whatever my facial expression was, the internet is still talking about it and saying that I just looked – like I ruined the whole promo video with my reaction. The fact that an announcer/interviewer can ruin a promo video just shows how important the interviewer actually is.
